Nivritti is designed as a thoughtful space that brings together community, care, and comfort. At the ground level, it welcomes the public with an open meditation hall and gathering areas, reflecting the spirit of inclusion and openness. This creates a welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can come together in peace and reflection.
The space also serves the homeless, thoughtfully integrating their needs into the daily life of the ashram. This approach reinforces the commitment to compassion and care, making the ashram a true refuge for those in need. The upper floors are dedicated to elderly residents, featuring terraces that provide opportunities for socializing, recreation, and dining—creating a warm, supportive environment where residents can build meaningful connections.
Located in the heart of Malleswaram, next to Sankey Tank and surrounded by religious landmarks, Nivritti responds to the unique challenges of aging within an urban setting. The design is grounded in an understanding of its users’ needs, using natural materials like brick and stone with a calming, earthy color palette. Accessibility and ease of movement are central to the design, making the spaces friendly to the elderly and physically challenged, while carefully balancing private living with shared community spaces.
