Typology Residential
Size 6000sqft
A home for generations, rooted in form and filtered light
Located on a southwest-facing corner in a rapidly urbanizing neighborhood, Terrace House is designed as a shared residence for two families of siblings and the generations to come. The site’s orientation and its exposure to a busy roadway demanded a response rooted in protection, privacy, and light.
The massing was conceived as a composition of solid blocks—anchoring the home against the harsh sun and street noise. Two deliberate openings punctuate the west and south façades: one framing the entry, the other opening onto a private terrace connected to the dining space.
At the center, the main living area is imagined as a sunken volume—nested between a north-facing courtyard and an elevated terrace. This in-between space fosters a quiet intimacy while maintaining visual continuity with the sky and greenery.
Above, a lush rooftop garden unfolds beneath a trellised canopy—an elevated commons envisioned for leisure, reflection, and future gatherings. A cylindrical skylight pierces the roof, channeling daylight deep into the core and becoming a subtle yet powerful architectural anchor.
Terrace House is not just a response to site and climate, but a framework for shared memory—robust in form, generous in light, and ready to evolve with time.
